Serina's SD Top 3: Antonio Gates Snubbed and More

Over the weekend there were so many Super Bowl events in Vegas and one was the NFL Honor, which left Antonio Gates disappointed. He is an 8 time pro bowler and played for the Chargers his ENTIRE 16 years and was not named a first-ballot hall-of-famer. Gates said “I feel like I let the people who went through the journey with me down. You know, like your family. The people who understands what’s beneath the surface, all the work you put in, the coaching staffs, the players who played with you. They’re like, What? So I think that’s one of those things where you think, man, in due time we’ll get there man.”

The San Diego College of Continuing Education has launched a pilot program to provide free cab rides for students that are struggling with basic needs. The college is partnering with United Taxi Workers of San Diego to provide students with a $100 transportation voucher. This is suppose to kick off sometime this month and will start with a group of up to 5 students and then expand to 100 in the following weeks.
