Emeli Sande Drops Striking Visual For 'Hurts' (VIDEO)

Emeli Sandé's promotional rollout for her new single, "Hurts," kicked into high gear on Wednesday (October 5) when the R&B songstress dropped the visual for the track.

Directed by Charles Mehling, the black and white video finds the 29-year-old singer belting out the mid-tempo anthem in between symbolic cuts of a man walking alone on the beach. Mix in some shots of aerial scenery and a soaring eagle and you have a visual just as raw as the confessional anthem itself.

Co-written by Mac & Phil, "Hurts" is an explosive ballad, which intensifies as the four-minute cut continues. With a steady clap beat, Emeli musters up the courage to pronounce her betrayal by a former lover on the self-produced number. It's gritty and dramatic, but as much as it hurts, there's something that lets listeners know that all will be well by the end of the cut.

"Hurts" is currently available for download on iTunes. Sandé's deluxe version of her sophomore album, Long Live The Angels, is set for release on November 11 and available for pre-order.
