Dave Chappelle Teases New Netflix Special 'Equanimity' (VIDEO)

We can all agree that 2017 was a lot. No matter which side you were on, or what table you were hiding under, the relentless drumbeat of bad, weird, scary, confusing and infuriating headlines were enough to make you want to erase it all and start over. What better way to kick off 2018, then, than with a brand-new stand-up special from Dave Chappelle?

The legendary comedian's third Netflix stand-up hour, the soothingly titled Equanimity, will debut on New Year's Eve and in a two-minute teaser that dropped on Wednesday (Dec. 20), Chappelle still has a few things left to say about the 2016 election. His strongest fire is reserved for some of the people who helped elect Pres. Trump., but also for the rich people who he says take the country's poor white voters for granted.

"I know that rich white people call poor white people trash," he says. "And the only reason I know that is because I made so much money last year the rich whites told me they say it at a cocktail party. And I'm not with that s**t."

While Chappelle's fans will snuggle in to watch the latest special in his massive Netflix deal, the comedian and frequent collaborator John Mayer will bring their "Controlled Danger" show to the Forum in Los Angeles on New Year's Eve for a show featuring headlining sets from both as well as a collaborative set for "songs, stories, improvised dancing and more."
