Keith Urban's current single "Female" is an extremely powerful song, and means even more to the country superstar since he is a husband and has a daughter of his own.
He sat down with us to reflect on the first time he ever heard the song, and how it impacted him. "I'll think of it first and foremost as a husband and a father, before an artist. That's how the song affected me. I'll always feel that way more so about the song. It's a very personal feeling."
With powerful lyrics such as, When somebody laughs and implies that she asked for it / Just cause she was wearing a skirt / Now is that how it works?
Itโs easy to see how this song would impact someone to deeply.
When he comes to the first time he heard the song, Keith shared, โI was in.โ He went on to say that he grabbed his guitar and started playing the song right away, and he knew that it had found a home.
It was also perfect timing for him to record and release the song, as he is in the studio working on his next album. "[Female] came so ready to be brought into my studio and for it to be turned into a record."
