Chance The Rapper Apologizes For Defending Kanye After Trump Thanks Him

Kanye West's tweets about having love for Donald Trump had social media bugging out this week.

"You don't have to agree with trump but the mob can't make me not love him," West previously tweeted. "We are both dragon energy. He is my brother. I love everyone. I don't agree with everything anyone does. That's what makes us individuals. And we have the right to independent thought."

After the rapper posted this tweet, as well as several more, showing his support for the controversial president, close friends John Legend and Chance The Rapper jumped into the mix. Legend tried schooling West about the dangerous things that he was saying, while Chance attempted defending him against people speaking badly about him.

After Chance did this, the star began receiving loads of backlash. Many people know how vocal Chance is about helping his city of Chicago and the people who live there, children in particular. So, social media slammed him for sticking up for West. Matters only got worse when Trump, himself, thanked Chance for supporting him. However, that's where the Coloring Book artist drew the line and apologized for his words. He also refused Trump's love.

In a nutshell, Chance said that although West is like a brother to him, he was wrong for trying to defend him because Trump stands for everything that he's against. He added that he'll no longer be protecting West from things like this on social media because that's not his job. His job is to serve his city. Read Chance's apology below.
