Trey Songz Is Officially Off The Hook In Domestic Violence Case

Trey Songz is officially off the hook in the domestic abuse case that he was facing after a woman alleged that the singer attacked her after a Los Angeles party, TMZ confirms.

This news comes after the district attorney rejected the case because of multiple inconsistencies in the story that the alleged victim, Andrea Buera, told authorities. "The L.A. City Attorney rejected the case Friday and will not slap the singer with a misdemeanor domestic violence charge citing insufficient evidence," TMZ reports.

At the time of the rejection, Songz's attorney Shawn Holley said that he also had witness statements that contradicted Buera's claims. "We're told Holley also provided further info that led to skepticism about Buera's credibility," TMZ previously said. "The case will now be referred to the L.A. City Attorney, who will decide whether or not to charge Songz with the lesser charge of misdemeanor domestic violence."

A few days after these claims surfaced, Songz went on Twitter to deny any wrongdoing. "For weeks my lawyers & Mgmt have asked me not to comment on this and I initially agreed but this morning I feel that my fam, the women that raised me, my friends & fans especially the youth need to hear from me," he tweeted. "I am being lied on and falsely accused for someone’s personal gain."

Songz continued: "I won’t be speaking too much more on this but would like to thank you for all the prayers and support."
