Beyonce Drops Surprise 'Homecoming' Live Album: Hear A New Track

2018 Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival - Weekend 1 - Day 2

Ring the alarm: Beyoncé just hit us with a brand-new album!

Last night (April 17) saw the midnight premiere of the "Crazy in Love" singer's highly-anticipated 2-hour-plus project Homecoming: A Film By Beyoncé, a Netflix movie which offers watchers behind-the-scenes footage from her historical 2018 Coachella performance. Though little did the Bey Hive know, Queen Bey would double down on her film's arrival by surprise-releasing a live record, titled Homecoming: The Live Album.

The album offers 40 live tracks, as performed by Beyoncé at Coachella, featuring fan-favorites like "Formation," "Drunk in Love," "Single Ladies," and "Get Me Bodied." Among the other songs to appear on the 37-year-old's loaded live LP include the choral hymn “Lift Every Voice and Sing," on which the musician's daughter Blue Ivy features vocally, and the bonus cut, "Before I Let Go," a cover of Frankie Beverly and Maze's 1981 classic hit.

The songbird had a previous connection with the tune back in December 2017, when her mother Tina Knowles Lawson captured the artist on video doing "the electric slide" to the smash before removing the clip off Instagram. A decade prior, Destiny's Child was said to have also recorded a rendition of the R&B jam in 1997, though it never saw the light of day.

This isn't the first time Beyoncé's dropped a new album on us out of the blue. In fact, she pioneered the trend with the release of her eponymous fifth studio album back in 2013.
