Jeannie Mai Cries While Comparing Her New Boyfriend Jeezy To Her Ex-Husband

Jeannie Mai has come a long way.

On Wednesday (October 10), the Real host opened up about her new relationship with Jeezy, explaining that it took her being single for while and then getting into a healthy and happy relationship for her to realize that her "standards were low" while she was married to her ex-husband Freddy Harteis.

"We can go into a whole counseling session on why I only gave myself the bare minimum," she began. "So, I am not blaming my ex for the things that he barely came through to do."

"When [Freddy] said things like ‘good for you’ or ‘that’s cool,’ I [was] like, that’s great, he supports me! That to me [was] my standard of support," she added before comparing Freddy's level of support to Jeezy's.

"I didn’t even know until my new relationship that even something as basic," she said through tears, "as, like, at his birthday party, he left his birthday to drive me to the airport to Atlanta. And I was like, 'Yo, I can Uber. I Ubered through my marriage. I'm good.' And he was looking at me like, ‘Are you crazy? I need to see you off.'"

She then issued a word of advice, saying, "just be mindful of your standard. For me, being alone and that time I took to myself was my upgrade."

As fans know, Jeannie and Feddy were married for 10 years — from 2007 to 2017— before Jeannie announced their split. The former couple finalized their divorce in December 2018, two months after Freddy welcomed a child with his girlfriend Linsey Toole.

Jeezy and Jeannie went public with their relationship last month.
