Red Shoe Day Goes Viral for Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego

This year, Ronald McDonald House Charities® of San Diego is going virtual for its 11th Annual Red Shoe Day fundraiser.

While our world looks quite different today than just a few short weeks ago, the need to care for our region’s most critically ill children doesn’t stop. Neither does the work San Diego’s Ronald McDonald House does.

For more than 40 years, San Diego’s Ronald McDonald House provides a “home away from home” for families with a critically ill or injured child in a local hospital. Donations from Red Shoe Day help families access free services like lodging, meals and emotional support.

The community can also donate by texting REDSHOE to 243725.

Instead of collecting cash at intersections in your community, Red Shoe Day team captains will create a team fundraising page, which will be their “virtual intersection,” where team members will be raising funds through Thursday, June 4.

Team captains are encouraged to bring their enthusiastic spirit and outstanding costumes to their virtual intersections by setting up challenges among team members, hosting virtual pep rallies and supporting their fundraising efforts on social media.

Individuals, businesses or groups looking to support their community by signing up as a team captain or by donating in advance can visit RedShoeDaySD.com
