Hundreds Of Vaccination Appointments Still Available At San Diego Sites

Although several vaccination sites were closed on Monday, February 22, hundreds of vaccination appointments were made available for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday throughout other San Diego County sites.

FOX5 reports that as of Monday morning, the Scripps Del Mar Fairgrounds vaccination site only had 30% of its 1,000 daily available appointments spoken for.

Appointments for Tuesday and Wednesday were also made available at the site.

Open appointment times were also available at the Sharp South Bay Super Station in Chula Vista and the Sharp Coronado vaccination site.

All three sites were offering the Pfizer vaccine only.

Over the weekend, several hundred COVID-19 vaccine appointments at the county's largest vaccine distribution site, Petco Park, were postponed for later this week.

The rescheduled appointments were due to delayed vaccine shipments from the Midwest and East Coast. The severe winter weather has delayed shipments of the vaccine to many counties around the country.

Residents who were scheduled for their second dose will also be rescheduled according to the county's Health and Human Services Agency.

FOX5 reports that the Sharp Health vaccination superstation sites at Chula Vista Center and Grossmont Center are also still offering appointments for the first and second doses of the Pfizer vaccine.
