Fans of the 2018 hit film, Black Panther, will have to wait a few more months for its highly anticipated sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Directed by Ryan Coogler, the cast and crew began work on the film this summer with the intention of releasing it in July 2022. However, Variety has reported that Disney has pushed the film's release date back from July 2022 to November 2022. Disney has informed Variety that the scheduling delay is due to production and not box office returns or the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is not the only film to have its release date pushed back. Disney has also announced that Marvel films like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Thor: Love and Thunder, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and The Marvels will not be released on time. Not to mention, the latest installment of the Indiana Jones franchise has been pushed back nearly 17 months.

Despite these recent delays in production, Disney has performed fairly well during the COVID-19 pandemic. Released in July, Black Widow has grabbed nearly $380 million at the box office. Not long thereafter, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings debuted in theaters and topped the box office. Moving forward, Disney is preparing to roll out Eternals this fall.

Starring Gemma Chan, Kumail Nanjiani, Richard Madden and Brian Tyree Henry, the film will introduce Marvel movie fans to a new group of heroes and storylines.

"The saga of the Eternals, a race of immortal beings who lived on Earth and shaped its history and civilizations," the film's description reads, according to IMDb.

While fans wait for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Eternals will debut on November 5.
