DJ Jam is quietly one of the most influential forces in West Coast hip hop considering his work with Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre. DJ Jam was born in Maryland and raised in both San Diego, CA and Dallas, TX giving him a well-rounded perspective on music and allowing him to connect with the hip hop birthplace on the East Coast and its development and progression in the West and South allowing him to be rooted in its history. DJ Jam’s cousin, Johnny Nash (I Can See Clearly Now) had already made an impact in the music industry. As fate would have it, DJ Jam would also find his own lane.
DJ Jam’s most well-known role as the tour DJ for Snoop and Dre beginning with the first “Chronic” album allowed him to continue as a DJ and tour with other West Coast legends such as Warren G, Tha Eastsidaz (Snoop Dogg, Tray Deee & Goldie Loc), Snoops 213 Crew (Snoop Dogg, Warren G & Nate Dogg), N.W.A. (2000)(Dre, Ice Cube, MC Ren & Snoop Dogg) & Doggy’s Angels. He has produced and remixed numerous artists allowing him to make his mark on local and international airwaves. Not only does DJ Jam know his way around his equipment but has also helped to improved and create top-selling products like AVID, Ableton, Native Instruments, Serato, Rane, ReLoop, Propellerhead.
Not only a solid local DJ, DJ Jam is now virtually all around the world as you can hear him on worldwide radio stations including San Diego, California’s JAM’N 95.7 FM, the iHeartRadio app and Australia’s Fresh 92.7 FM. Additionally, DJ Jam enjoys spinning on guest spots for Snoop Dog’s “Cadillac Music” channel on The Dash Radio Network, and the Twitch live streaming platform.
While DJ Jam thrives in music production, he’s also committed to working with his non-profit organization, Community Hands Network that supports and encourages youth of all ages in making positive and enduring changes in their lives, their environments and in their communities.
