Lil Durk Faces New Legal Battle Amid Alleged Murder-For-Hire Case

Lil Durk has been hit with a wrongful death lawsuit in connection to the death of Quando Rondo's cousin Lul Pab.

According to a report the Chicago Sun-Times published on Monday, February 24, Andrea Laquila Robinson, the mother of Lul Pab, filed a lawsuit against Durk earlier this month in a Cook County court. The "All My Life" rapper is named as a defendant along with his business manager, his Only The Family record label and another company. In the legal documents, Robinson said her son, born Saviay'a Robinson, was killed during a "targeted attack" in Los Angeles in 2022.

“The premature loss of Mr. Robinson has devastated his family and community,” said one of Robinson’s lawyers Warren Postman. “We filed this lawsuit to hold those responsible accountable and to ensure his family receives the support they need during this difficult time."

Durk was indicted last October in connection with an alleged murder-for-hire scheme aimed at Quando Rondo, born Tyquian Bowman. Prosecutors allege the Chicago rapper, born Durk Banks, placed a bounty on Bowman's head and enlisted five men to assassinate his foe in exchange for money and music opportunities with his OTF label. Durk allegedly had an associate pay for airfare and hotel accommodations with a credit card connected to the record label. On August 19, 2022, the five men and another co-conspirator allegedly followed Bowman around Los Angeles in two vehicles before they opened fire with an automatic weapon.

Bowman wasn't hit during the shooting. Unfortunately, Robinson was struck and died on the scene. The shooting was allegedly planned in retaliation to the death of Durk's artist King Von, who was shot and killed in Atlanta following an altercation with Bowman's crew in 2020. Bowman did not pull the trigger but a member of his crew, Lul Timm, was charged with Von's murder. His charges were dropped in 2023.

Lil Durk pleaded not guilty to the charges. He's been waiting for his trial date in jail since he was arrested last year. He was supposed to have his day in court last month, but his trial date was pushed back to October. He faces life in prison if convicted.
