Joe Budden is heading back to court after his favorite neighbors sued him over last year's nude incident and other allegations.
According to a report TMZ published on Tuesday, March 25, attorney Thomas Mirigliano filed a civil lawsuit on behalf of his clients John and Yuliya Aksoy. The Aksoys are the neighbors who originally called the police on Budden after they claimed he was trying to get into their apartment in New Jersey while he was sleepwalking in the nude. Now, they've accused Budden, his co-host Melyssa Ford and the condominium association of participating in a "campaign of intimidation and retribution" against them.
In the lawsuit, the Aksoys claimed the alleged retaliation from the defendants began after the couple confronted Budden about the disruptive behavior they allegedly witnessed while The Joe Budden Podcast filmed across the hall from them. They complained about the loud noises and alleged Budden's crew created a hazardous environment for their young daughter by smoking weed in the condo's common area. After they filed a complaint with the condo's association, Budden allegedly confronted the couple and claimed Yuliya made racist comments towards him. The podcaster's lawyer Nima Ameri also brought up the racist allegations when she dismissed the lawsuit as "a money grab attempt by a person we believe to be a racist."
The Aksoy's also mentioned the nude incident in the legal documents. They claimed Budden and his co-hosts spoke about the situation and joked about it in an episode from last October. Budden vacated the building at the time but returned a week later. He was cleared of wrongdoing following a trial that lasted several days.
