Dreamville Festival as we know it may be over, but J. Cole hints that it's not totally the end.
During the fifth and final Dreamville Fest held in Raleigh, North Carolina, the "cLOUDs" rapper and co-founder addressed the future of the music festival while performing Cole's "Too Deep for the Intro" with headliner Erykah Badu on the last night of the weekend-long festival on Sunday (April 6), per HotNewHipHop.
"We said this is the last Dreamville Festival," he said. "I'm just keeping it 100 with y'all, that s--- be a lot. We want to put on some amazing s--- for y'all, we want to do it for Carolina, you know what I mean? We love being able to offer that and bring amazing artists. ... But I'ma just let y'all know our plan. We still gon' bring some s---."
Cole's manager revealed last year that the 2025 festival would be its last, but organizers shared last week that a new iteration will take its place, per Complex. Sascha Stone Guttenfreund, festival producer for Dreamville and Live Nation, confirmed that they worked with the city of Raleigh on a "multi-year deal" to bring "something new and exciting and to continue to build on this incredible thing that we've done over the years."
Speaking the the crowd on Sunday, Cole also stated that the festival will return with the same vibes but with a new name.
"This festival will exist. It might not have the motherf------ 'Dreamville Festival' name on it, but we will be back with this feel. When y'all out here, I don't know if y'all feel it. But to me, this s--- feel like a cookout, motherf------ family reunion. It's so much love in this b----. It's so many Black people in this motherf------ festival."
Other artists who commanded the stage during the final Dreamville Fest included Lil Wayne with Hot Boys, 21 Savage, GloRilla and PARTYNEXTDOOR, to name a few.
