New Jersey Senator Cory Booker is visiting Imperial Beach today to tour the Tijuana River area.
He is being joined during his visit by Imperial Beach Mayor Paloma Aguirre and Congressman Juan Vargas.
All three are expected to discuss the ongoing sewage crisis that has closed local beaches for decades. Sen. Booker calls the sewage issue the "worst environmental and public health crisis" in the country.
Last month EPA administrator Lee Zeldin toured the same area and said the problem needs to be addressed with "extreme urgency.."
