D4vd purchased a few suspicious tools that he allegedly used to dismember Celeste Rivas Hernandez's body after her death.

According to a report TMZ published on Wednesday, April 29, prosecutors submitted court documents in which they provide the most detailed account of how the 14-year-old died. They believe the alt-pop singer, born David Anthony Burke, called an Uber to bring the teenager from her home in Lake Elsinore, Calif., to the house in Hollywood Hills where he was staying on the night of April 23, 2025. After she arrived, Burke allegedly stabbed Celeste to death and later bought items that he used to get rid of her body.

Prosecutors alleged Burke immediately began to cover his tracks following the murder. They noted that Celeste arrived at his home at 10:10 p.m., but he sent a text asking where she was at 10:30 p.m. At 11:30 p.m. that same night, the singer drove to a remote area in Santa Barbara County where authorities believe he attempted "to dispose of [Celeste's] property and destroy evidence." He returned early the following morning to do a radio interview to promote his new album. He sent his last texts to Celeste's phone on April 26. Prosecutors argued his actions were part of Burke's "premeditated plan to cover up the murder."

A week after the murder, prosecutors claim Burke used an alias to order a shovel from Home Depot and had it delivered to his home via Postmates. He also allegedly used Amazon to buy two chainsaws, a body bag, heavy-duty laundry bags, and a blue, inflatable pool. They argue that the singer put the teen's dead body in the pool and used the chainsaws to remove her limbs, including the ring and pinky fingers on her left hand. Celeste reportedly had a matching tattoo on her ring finger, which has not been recovered.

Burke reportedly took two more trips to the same area in Santa Barbara County where Celeste's passport was found. He also ordered a burn cage on July 7 under the fake alias, which he could've used to burn more evidence. The Medical Examiner's report highlighted that pieces of blue material were found in Celeste's body parts. In addition, police found "evidence consistent with the dismemberment of the victim’s body in the inflatable pool." They also discovered "several biological samples, which tested positive for blood" in the garage.

Burke allegedly began to plot Celeste's murder after she threatened to expose their relationship. Prosecutors claim he met Hernandez in 2022 when she was 11, but didn't start having sex until she was 13, and he was 18. She allegedly got jealous when she found out that he was still sleeping with other women and threatened to reveal their relationship. Their argument happened three days before his album WITHERED dropped.

The 21-year-old artist was arrested and charged with Celeste's murder. He was also accused of possessing at least 40 terabytes of child porn. He pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
