Aaliyah Dana Haughton was an American singer, actress, and model who was born in Brooklyn. Aaliyah left us on August 25, 2001 when she and eight others were tragically killed in a plane crash. They had just completed filming a music video for her single Rock the Boat in The Bahamas.
