Tomorrow is #InternationalWomensDay, and #ADayWithoutWomen. These notes from young girls are EVERYTHING.
I am happy to have a boss that not only lets me BE, but also encourages my passion for people.
My fourth grade teacher friend found this under one of her students' desks. <3 <3 <3 pic.twitter.com/7NSxIa6ujn— Elly (@SMLXist) March 6, 2017
For as long as I can remember, my mother would tell me about how hard she had to work. How she was treated by the other nurses that didn't have an accent, and how she was paid LESS THAN her peers. I remember thinking it was unfair because I saw how good she was with the seniors she cared for.
My daughter is 9 years old, and she hasn't asked me if she could stay home from school tomorrow, so I am going to assume that she isn't hearing about it in school. Today she will definitely hear more about it because I am going to STRIKE. I am blessed to have a boss that knows why we are striking and what it means to be able to exercise that right.
