Up and coming hip hop artist, Tate Tucker, came by to chop it up with Frankie and Tati.

While hanging out, Tate drops a freestyle, tells us about meeting his idol Lupe Fiasco and how it was growing up biracial. On a nearly full-ride scholarship to Georgetown University, he pursued a career in politics and also talks about how his dad helped influence him to stay in school. Tate has also opened for acts such as Big Sean and Post Malone.

Check out his debut and lead single "Breezy" for his upcoming EP Shangri LA which drops May 31, 2019!

Get To Know Tate Tucker:

Born and bred by the beaches of L.A., Tate Tucker makes music that’s entirely the product of his surroundings: sunny and dreamy but charged with a restless energy, refusing to conform to any genre or style. On his upcoming EP Shangri LA, the rapper/singer/songwriter brings that dynamic to a batch of songs both hypnotic and reflective, a thoughtful escape from the chaos of the world.

“Breezy” is Tucker’s debut for Harvest Records, and embodies his kaleidoscopic sound, blending bombastic beats with ethereal textures and melodies that soothe. As the track glides along, slipping from hip-hop to soul-pop to groove-heavy R&B, Tucker imbues each line with his masterfully fluid vocal work and the magnetic presence he’s revealed in opening for artists like Big Sean and Post Malone. Made in collaboration with producers Tim Anderson (Billie Eilish, BANKS) and IQ (Jaden Smith, GoldLink), “Breezy” also hints at the mindfulness behind his creative process.
