As expected, Labor Day weekend will be a busy one for travel.
According to AAA, domestic travel in the U.S. will see a rise of about 9% compared to previous years.
The agency has also shared tips on the best and worst times travel by car for the long weekend.
On August 30, the best time to begin travel is before noon while the worst would be between 2 and 6p.m.
“Drivers should expect the most severe traffic jams before the holiday weekend as commuters mix with travelers,” said Bob Pishue, transportation analyst at INRIX, told AAA. “Monitoring traffic apps, local news stations, and 511 traveler information services may help drivers navigate around congestion and reduce driver frustration this Labor Day.”
You can check out more tips and advice on travel times over at AAA's website.
