February 2019 SDCCU Classroom Heroes Recipient: Lisa Ransom of Shoal Creek

SDCCU Classroom Heroes Lisa Ransom Shoal Creek Elementary

Lisa Ransom of Shoal Creek Elementary School is the SDCCU Classroom Heroes recipient for February 2019. Lisa teaches first grade in the Poway Unified School District, and is a dedicated educator who goes above and beyond for her students.

Lisa was nominated for the SDCCU Classroom Heroes program by the parent of one of her students, who wrote: Mrs. Ransom does so much extra for her students. She runs a math club after school for kids who need extra help on her own time, she runs the Otter Outreach program for the school and organizes monthly events to help the community (picking up trash at the beaches, fundraising for Ronald McDonald House, book exchanges), she voluntarily sits on the Educational Foundation for the school as school representative, she is an amazing 1st grade teacher who takes even the most challenging students and helps them achieve their highest potential. She is so loving and really cares for the students and their futures. She always attends after school programs and events on her own time even though she has her own family to manage. She goes above and beyond in every way, every day.

The SDCCU Classroom Heroes program recognizes outstanding educators and the tremendous impact they have on their students. The program was launched in March of 2015 and has already honored dozens of teachers at schools throughout San Diego County. Teachers, students, parents, and community members are all encouraged to nominate an outstanding educator by visiting this page.

Program winners receive a $500 SDCCU® Visa® Gift Card and are featured on San Diego iHeartRadio stations, and ABC 10News.
