Valentine's Day is right around the corner! For those who plan to stay in this year, a great option is to snuggle up and throw on a classic, feel-good romantic comedy.

There's an endless list of options, even ones that are coming out this Valentine's Day, but it's safe to say that rom-coms that came out during the 2000s really fine-tuned the genre. That's why CenturyLinkQuote set out to find the most searched 2000s rom-com in every state.

According to their findings, the most searched rom-com in California is Serendipity starring John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale.

Californians aren't the only ones who will be turning on the 2001 rom-com this Valentine's Day. CenturyLinkQuote found that Serendipity is actually the most popular 2000s rom-com nationwide, with 18 states googling it the most last year.

Other popular movies that states searched for the most included 13 Going on 30, The Holiday, Sweet Home Alabama, The Proposal, Juno, The Princess Diaries, and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.

To determine which movies were the most searched, CenturyLinkQuote compiled a list of the 70 most popular 2000s rom-coms based on data from IMDb, Cosmopolitan, ScreenRant, and Ranker. Then they collected each movie's search volume in SEMrush, narrowed the list to the top 11, and used Google Trends.
