Tri-City Medical Center's Board of Directors voted Thursday night to partner with Sharp healthcare.
The deal involves investing about 100-million dollars in Tri-City to help stabilize its financial situation. The hospital was previously forced to close its Obstetrics and neonatal intensive care unites several years ago because of low patient volume.
The deal will also help bring the Medical center into seismic safety compliance. That, along with costly upgrades, have been an issue for at least 20 years.
