More than 300 flights out of the San Diego International Airport were delayed on Sunday, according to the FlightAware website, and airport officials say if you're flying out of San Diego today, you should arrive at the airport early.
Flights are being delayed up to an hour due to the effects of the federal government shutdown on checkpoint wait times and flight scheduling processes.
On the Federal Aviation Administration's website, the Air Traffic Control System Command Center lists "staffing" as the cause of the delays with the average delay time listed at 59 minutes.
If you're flying out of San Diego International, it's suggested you arrive at least two hours before your flight.
